PRIVACY POLICY
Last updated: 6 July 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how ROARi APP LTD ("ROARi", "we", "us") collects, uses, and protects your personal data when you use the ROARi mobile app and website. ROARi APP LTD is registered in England and Wales and acts as the data controller under UK GDPR.
What we collect and why
- Email address — to create and sign in to your account.
- Location — to show nearby independent businesses on the Explore map and to confirm you're on-site when collecting a stamp (geofencing). You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings.
- Camera — used only to scan the rotating counter QR code when you collect a stamp. Images are not stored or uploaded.
- Push notification token — so we can send you flash offers and reward alerts. You can turn notifications off at any time.
- Business/profile data — for business accounts: your business name, address, photos, offers, and subscription status.
- Usage data — stamps collected, ROARDs earned, rewards claimed, and basic app diagnostics.
Legal basis (UK GDPR)
We process your data on the basis of contract (to provide the ROARi service you signed up for), legitimate interests (to run and improve the app safely), and consent where required (e.g. push notifications, precise location).
Where your data is stored
Your data is stored securely on Supabase infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Payments for business subscriptions are handled by Stripe — we never see or store your full card details.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that make ROARi work (hosting, payments, notifications), and where legally required.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export, or delete your data at any time. You can delete your account in-app (Settings → Delete account) or by emailing hello@roari.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).
